General Data Protection Regulation \u2013 <\/strong>\u039c\u03ac\u03b9\u03bf\u03c2<\/strong> 2018<\/strong><\/p>

The new European General Data Protection Regulation (EU) (Regulation (EU) 2016\/679) comes into effect in all EU member states from 25\/5\/2018.<\/p>

The regulation establishes a uniform legal framework for the protection of personal data in all EU member states. It imposes a series of new obligations on data controllers, which stem from the basic principles and in particular the enhanced principle of transparency in the way data is collected, processed and stored and the new principle of accountability, according to which the data controller is responsible and is able to demonstrate its compliance with all the principles governing the processing of personal data. The regulation repeals the current regulation (Directive 95\/46EC of 1995) which will be in force until May 24, 2018.<\/p>
